Characteristics:

Our fire retardant MDF is made for critical applications where Class 1 flame retardant materials are required. This MDF has significantly delayed combustion and does not contribute to flame spread. This type of MDF is ideal for interior and non-structural use, especially in public areas such as school, hotels, hospitals, airports, theaters, etc.

Material: 100% mixed tropical hardwood waste materials.

BS 476-7 fire rating: Flame Retardant Class 1  (Refer to table 1 below)

Table 1: BS 476-7:I997 Classification of spread of flame

This method of test is to determine the classification of the surface spread of flame of products. It basically covers the distance of MDF burnt by heat within a specific time of 1.5 minutes and 10 minutes exposure.

Based on the test performance table shown above, materials as Class 1 is the best classification and Class 4 is the worst. Class 4 materials are considered high risk.
